DEEP SLEEP was good from the start. He broke his maiden in Stakes company. Not many do that. For a powerfully made speed machine, he hated the deep ground in France. Yet he went on to Group race glory against the quickest horses in Europe, and took Maison-Laffitte's premier sprint with a stinging dash of acceleration. With his looks and splendid pedigree, his offspring could yet put him back in the limelight, where he so palpably deserves to be.
